MARJEYOUN YWCA
Established in 1934

Marjeyoun, on the southern border of Lebanon, was heavily affected by the wild Israeli invasion and heavy bombing attacks in the summer of 2006. The conflict generated negative repercussions on the development of the area and on the work of the YWCA.

The local YWCA leadership is working with the National office to rebuild the membership, develop children's programs, and revive community awareness activities. The main focus is to establish a safe day care for children of working mothers, and to encourage home industries among village women, as an outlet for income generation.
