HADATH
YWCA - Established in 1965
Current
Programs
A
Day Care center is operated jointly with the Ministry
of Social Affairs, which underwrites a part of the costs. Three
years of quality preschool education prepare an average of 85
children for the first elementary.
A
Nursery and Preschool program
meet a growing demand for low-cost childcare. The YWCA serves
an average of 100 children in two different locations at Hadath.
Recreational Activities for the Children and their
mothers are maintained on regular basis.
Orphan
Sponsorship
continues for a number of children while keeping them within the
security of their extended families.
Membership
activities and community building programs are held on a regular
basis for 80 women. Fundraising initiatives include gala dinners,
lunches and an annual bazaar. The latter serves also as an outlet
for embroidery and other handwork by women who need additional income.
The
Vocational Program
continues to offer English language, typing and computer courses
to ensure better job opportunities to young women of the area.
